“I wanna say something about this group of racer's and family. This is one of the most down to earth, friendly, and greatest group of RC people I've ever been around. I've been around, in and out of RC racing for over 20 years, racing everything from off-road, concrete and carpet on road, and dirt ovals. But I've been to 2 of y'all's events for a few hours each time, because of prior commitments, but everyone has always made me feel very welcomed, and has always answered any questions I've asked. Thank you everyone in the RCDRL family, you LADIES and GENTLEMEN are awesome. Look forward to actually getting to spend the whole day with y'all at the next event, God bless.”

Family Friendly Competition
“Becoming a part of RCDRL has been a fantastic experience for my son and I on both a social and educational level. We are working together as a team as well as with other competitors to problem solve, test and implement improvements not only to our cars but to our group/club both locally and nationally. There are many classes to fit anyone's competitive level whether new to R/C or a veteran Drag racer.”

What the RCDRL has done to my family
“I have been asked to put into words what the RCDRL means to my family and myself. I can honestly say it has been a something that I have never imagined. Let me take you back to the first time I really heard about the RCDRL. It all started back a few months ago, when I was tired of tripping over Jaxon’s Christmas presents. I called my brother, Eric and told him we needed to get together because I had these presents for Jax. My oldest son Chris and I went over there on a Sunday. Eric showed us some cars that he had purchased and talked about this RCDRL thing. I thought he is really losing it, but whatever, it seems to make him happy and that makes me happy. I still think he is losing it, but in a different way. Little did I know my brother had a plan. He talked to me about this league and told me if I bought him a funny car, I would be the sponsor to it and he would paint it whatever color I wanted. Eric knows that I am a huge LSU fan, so thinking to myself and thinking he would say no, I said okay, but I want this car to be purple and gold with the LSU tiger on it. To my surprise, he agreed. So off we went to the computer to purchase what is now call the LSU car. I must say it is in my opinion the best-looking car out there! Later in the week, the car came in and Eric was all excited to get the paint and start painting it. The next weekend, I brought over my youngest son Justin and no one could have ever seen what was about to happen. Justin bought a car and my oldest Chris bought a car. This whole time I am thinking what in the heck is going on? How am I getting involved in this and my kids are now buying cars. My brother created a monster. The next thing I know we are talking about going to a race at the Texas Motor Speedway and I am racing the Teton. So here we are at the race, I am still thinking to myself, what in the world is going on. Justin, Chris, Heather, Eric and I are all racing these cars. The LSU car makes it’s first appearance. I love watching that car go down the track with the famous “GEAUX” on the back. Everyone went into qualifying round except for the Teton and me. I still need to figure out how to keep that thing straight! Justin who really had not played with his car much, to everyone's surprise, kept going rounds in the Quick 16 bracket. My brother the weeks before, kept saying he needs to come out and test and tune with us, he is going to get made because he won’t win. Well guess what? He went out his first time and WON the Quick 16 bracket! I have always said this about Justin, to never second guess him, he will surprise you! I guess that is from all his many years of playing soccer as a keeper, never count him out. Chris my other son also went into a few rounds. To say the least, that was one of the best times I had in my life. Eric calls me a few days after and tells me that he really wants us to become a racing family. The words that came out of my mouth "I agree". We had a formal meeting, and everyone was on board with it. The B & B Racing Team was formed. Maybe not this season, but next season the 5 of us will be a force out there on the track! As of today, I am not even sure how many cars we have, I know it's a lot, but I can tell you that this league has really changed my brother and our family. We talk daily, we meet up every weekend and have fun. Both of my boys changed jobs so they have weekends off and the jobs they now have are better jobs that can carry them along with a good solid career. As for my brother and I, our relationship has grown into the kind of relationship that my mom always wanted. One I have always wanted. We are closer than ever. The RCDRL is not just about going out and having fun on race weekends, it is about bringing families together, creating friendships and giving back. I haven’t been a part of this league long, but the friendships I have made so far are ones that I hope will last a life time and the bond it has created with my family is one that is unexplainable. This was the plan my brother had all along; he is a lot like my mom when it comes to family. I think he is still in shock how this has completely changed our lives. It has been an amazing journey so far, I can’t wait to see where it takes us next.”
“One thing that impresses me, is the diversity of the league. Regardless of race, age, sex, or experience.. all are treated equally… As a racer. You have 6-year-olds racing 60-year-olds. You have people that have just bought their first R/C, and people that have been racing for 30 years. Girls and women are welcome to come as well as the guys. 20 mph cars to 100+ mph Basically, if you have a hobby grade R/C .. There is a category for you. With all that diversity one thing everyone has in common -- a willingness to help anyone that asks for help”
One word , AWESOME
“Visited the track this weekend and it is a 1st class operation. The competition was outstanding. The sportsmanship really cool to see. Their were several racers from the all over the US and Puerto Rico and One from Australia. I heard the world family a lot and have been to several big tracks all over the country and they run their program as good and in a lot of places better than the big cars. Hats off to Mike and the racers their for the great show.”

What a Blast!
“I just wanted to start off by saying thank you to Richard Cole, Michael Mercadel, MIke Pfeil and the entire RCDRL family for putting on such an amazing event at the RLC Super Nationals. Also would like to thank my wife Mindy Tobin who came out and helped with races. My little brother Joey Marroccoli who also helped with the kids racing and spent his birthday today driving home and last but definitely not least my dad Joe Marroccoli who made this trip possible for us and my kids. This was a weekend that my family and I will remember forever. We where finally able to put faces with names. In doing so we definitely made some great new friends. I am also very excited to announce that in the near future I will be rebuilding my traxxas jato to compete in the 2wd class with the help of my new sponsor RLC PERFORMANCE ENGINEERING that will be power by another great nitro engine built by the man himself rick of Rb Mods. I also got to meet a legend of the sport Mr Mike Smith. Had some time to sit down and talk to Norris Graves who is also a great guy, Jesse Hernandez, Steves Page Kevin Smith along with countless others from all around the rcdrl nation. I was very proud of my kids this weekend they all did a great job racing. My son Josh Jr who just 12 days ago made 5. For the Saturday race was eliminated in the first round by Paxton Pfeil and made it to the second round of racing for the Sunday race where he lost to Joseph Forbes. My daughter Chloe eliminated herself in the first round of the Sunday race by hitting the Finnish line block after young Dallas Pfeil in the other lane put on the red light but for the Saturday race she made it all the way to the final round to face off with her big brother. My son Thomas for Sundays race lost in the second round to a hole shot victory by Christian Duke who cut an .034 to Thomas' .075 and the margin of victory was .024 and for Saturday's race Thomas got the first round hole shot award cutting a .005 light and went on to take the win for the day against his sister in the finals. As far as myself it was not my weekend for racing having lost in the first round of 2wd to Stuart Montgomery first round of promod to Dennis Forbes and in all run my car left and instantly hit the wall against Dakota Smith I guess we all have bad days but it's racing and my kids did an amazing job and I could not be any prouder of them. Thanks again to all of the great people who help put this weekend on and making it happen even with mother nature raining on us twice Saturday you guys and gals made it possible. In closing we all had a great time and look forward to coming back next year.”

Hobbytown USA - Owner
“This is one of the best local ongoing family focused events in the area. Our community needs all of this we can get. The RCDRL organization provides family fun, community support to groups like "Back the Blue", "Autism Awareness". The community of Hurst should be just as proud to have this group in Hurst as Hobbytown is. Let's keep this organization going and build a positive, fun and engaging community together.”
- Brian Howard
Fun Fun Fun!
“Michael, First let me begin by saying, wow. What a class act organization you have going. My family and I are really looking forward to becoming members and meeting some new folks. A little about us. I have been in and off in the R/C hobby for 20 years. I never raced or have been part of any clubs. So this is new for me. Heather my wife is as excited about our new venture as I am. Jaxon my son 5 years old will be 6 in May,is Autistic. This is the first time other than I-pad that has him excited. We took him to the test and tune a few weeks back and I seen a side of him that I have not seen. He was excited and could barely contain himself. Now all he talks about is racing RC cars. I have read on the page of RCDRL about you and your son, and wow!! What a great story. The Bowman Family”
- Eric Bowman
Great Organization but...
“Be prepared for an all day affair. They put on a great race and show, but when they race you are there for the day. like 6-8 hours. Sometimes you want to just get in and get out. Just wasn't for me.”
- Vinay S.
“Look forward to every race day so that we can be around such wonderful people. These people are like family to us. And this race league is lots of fun. The best part is seeing the kids smiling faces all the time. Mike & the entire staff always do an outstanding job!!”
- Anne & Bill Wagner

Rcdrl rlc super nationals
“The rcdrl knows how to throw a rc drag race. From the officials to the people that come to race are all top notch. This was the 2nd super nationals that I've attended and this was better then the first and I'll be attending next year. If your looking for fast family fun look no further you found it. The RCDRL.”

Best Race Ever Attended!
“The RC Drag Racing community came together to celebrate the life of a true legend... Hall of Famer... Mr. Jim Schauer.. AKA... Rainman. All I can say is that the RCDRL lived up to it's reputation. This was hands down the best race I have ever been to in the past 20 years. Mike Mercadel and his crew were on top of everything all day and I have to give a big shout out to them. You guys were awesome. My good friend was looking down on us all smiling. First I would like to thank Mike and his family for everything from a wonderful dinner to a perfect race day. I would like to thank the officials, you guys were on point all day and I would like to thank all the racers who showed up, you made this weekend shine for a true legend we will surely miss. lastly, but not least I would like to thank Jerry Shields for all his help this weekend tracking my car down and Jimmy's Wife Donna Stanlake Sebo Schauer and Daughter Cheyenne Wepking for coming and supporting our favorite guy, Jim Schauer.”
- Tony Rudis
Great for kids, teens and adults!
“This league has been Such a blessing for me and my son! I am a single Mom with 0 interest in cars. And now he has a group that shares his interests. My son is 15, and we've been with the league for about a year ... and it has truly changed our lives for the better. It has also helped Trevor learn a lot of marketable skills. He wants to be a mechanic when he grows up. So he is learning about fixing cars… On a smaller scale. But the concept is the same. And he is so comfortable "wrenching" that he is now taking on household plumbing and electrical jobs! Thank you for creating an outlet for his passions and a chance to meet a lot of Quality male role models. It is truly a Family in the RCDRL. My son has learned so much and has gained a lot of confidence by being in the league.”
- Jennette Lee
“This was the best run, most fun drag race I have even been to in 30 years of RC. This team sets the standard for how RC Racing should be.”
- Tim Smith
Bringing family fun to a whole new level
“Joining the RCDRL a few years ago has been a positive experience and adventure for myself and my niece. Their a great group that's all about family and fun in a exciting rc experience you'll enjoy.”
- Steve Nigri
How great is this!
“I never knew ANYTHING about RC Drag racing. Not one thing. I have been a friend of Mike and his family since we were teenagers. I came to visit in June and Mike invited me down to the races. To say I was impressed with what I saw is putting it mildly. The work and the dedication that is put into this is OUTSTANDING. I was just a spectator, but from what I could see, all of the participants and officials were enjoying themselves. There were age groups from 6 to 60 racing. They were all very competitive, but also smiling and showing outstanding sportsmanship. That is what I enjoyed seeing. The joy this brought to those participating. As I took it all in, I got kind of teary, because, from what I understand, this started as just a hobby for Mike and his son, and he has turned it into this. This is truly incredible. The RCDRL is truly something the community around it can be proud of.”
- Dawn Williford
“Stumbling upon the RCDRL was a life changer. Mike runs a class act, and the members of the RCDRL nation are a great addition to my life.”
