The Gators was a big hit at the Don Garlits Museum of Drag Racing April 26-28, 2024. Racers  came from all over the Country to fill 230 entries at this the 4th Annual Gator RC Nationals. The racers compete for trophies, plaques, medallions, money and points.

“We do the exact same thing that the big cars do,” Mike Barge, a racer with five years of experience shared. “Everything’s about the same. Onboard computers, dinos, everything except parachutes.”

Mike Labue owns a full-size racecar and is a drag racer with nearly 50 years of experience. He said, "this is sort of the same as the big boys, the organization is very structured and family friendly. He loves to compete with his teammate and son, Mike "Piggy" Labue. 
When asking both locals and racers that came from afar...why do they do it? Most said, "It's the fast furious, family" that keeps them coming back.  

The National Champions will be announced in October 4-6, at RCDRL’s U.S. Super National Championship at Traders Village in Grand Prairie Texas.
